ABOUT US
Discover and promote beauty through Mexican artists
The Arte Actual Mexicano gallery was founded in 1972 by Guillermo Sepúlveda, with the intention of integrating the city of Monterrey into the panorama of plastic arts in Mexico. Since its inception, it has maintained the criteria of promoting the art of the latest generations, as well as pointing out and assisting young Mexican art.
To date, he has held close to 500 exhibitions and has collaborated closely in different thematic shows (On Desire and Memory, Cardinal Proposals as a Prelude to the 21st Century...) and individual ones (Julio Galán, Enrique Guzmán...) with public and private institutions in Mexico and abroad, highlighting the curatorship and museography of "Siglo XX, Grandes Maestros Mexicanos", which in four stages and for two years was presented at the MARCO Museum in Monterrey, with a summary of the most important of 20th century Mexican painting, and a record audience of over 320,000 visitors.
Given the multiethnic and cultural characteristics of the country, the gallery, for the realization of its projects, has established a close relationship with Mexico City and the states of Jalisco, Michoacán and Oaxaca, as these are the producing centers of greatest cultural influence in the country.
During the last 15 years, exchange exhibitions have been carried out with other Latin American countries and participated in international fairs in Europe (FIAC, ARCO) and the United States (ART CHICAGO and ART MIAMI).
